Dr. Charlie Buchanan

Charlie Buchanan

Co-Owner Brazos Valley Stallion Station LP
Dr. Charlie Buchanan grew up in Navasota, TX, where his interest in becoming a veterinarian began at an early age.  He began his career working at Brazos Valley Equine Hospital under Dr. TBone Buchanan, his father, as a veterinary technician and stall cleaner, where he learned the basics of being a veterinarian from the best.

In 1997 Charlie graduated from Texas A&M College of Veterinary Medicine, married his wife Shannon, and began his veterinary profession at Brazos Valley Equine Hospital. There he developed his passion for serving his clients and caring for their horses.  In 2006, Charlie left Navasota to develop BVEH’s new branch in Stephenville, which has steadily grown over the years.

Charlie’s family has also grown since moving to Stephenville. He has two beautiful children, Camilla and Corrine, who love to dance, bake, do art projects, and play with their horses, Bunny and Bear.  Shannon has a popular cake and dessert baking business that keeps her busy and she is usually the first to volunteer for projects at the girls’ school and church.  In Charlie’s spare time he enjoys tending his cattle, playing basketball, and cooking for his family.

Charlie has followed in father’s footsteps and has become one of the leading sports medicine doctors in Texas. He cares for many of the country’s top equine athletes.
